Connecting your cameras to your facility's pool router gives you the most stable, longest-range setup, and it's required when you're running three or more cameras. Once configured, your cameras automatically reconnect to the pool Wi-Fi whenever they power on. Before you start, set your cameras up on Mobile Athlee Wi-Fi (see How to Configure Your Camera's Wi-Fi).
Before you start: what your pool Wi-Fi needs
Your facility network must use WPA2-Personal (PSK) security, the standard password-based Wi-Fi that most home and pool routers use. Open networks with no password, enterprise networks (such as eduroam or username/password logins), and networks with a login page are not supported.
Not sure if your network qualifies? Email support@athlee.com and we'll help.
Connect your iPad to your Mobile Athlee Wi-Fi network and open the Athlee Coach app. Confirm all of your cameras appear and are streaming before you continue.
On your iPad, connect to the same pool router, then reopen Athlee Coach. Your cameras will appear, now running on Pool Wi-Fi.
Once you save a pool network, the camera joins it on startup and stops broadcasting its own Mobile Athlee Wi-Fi hotspot. It operates in one mode at a time. If the pool router isn't available when the camera powers on (for example, at a swim meet or on an away trip), the camera automatically falls back to broadcasting its Mobile Athlee Wi-Fi, so you can always connect. No reconfiguration needed.
Make sure your iPad and cameras are on the same pool router. Occasionally a camera misses the pool Wi-Fi at startup and falls back to its Mobile Athlee Wi-Fi. If you see that network in your iPad's Wi-Fi list, restart the camera and it will reconnect to the pool network.
Still not connecting? See What to Do If Your Camera Doesn't Appear in the App to read the exact reason directly from the camera.
